We were interested enough in Don Winslow’s The Kings of Cool that we snatched from the capacious Mercantile fiction shelves Savages, the thriller to which The Kings of Cool was a prequel, accidentally reading the books in historic order.
Winslow has adopted an almost but not quite screenplay style that actually tips over into actual screenplayfulness from time to time.
