“Fasten your seat belts, it’s going to be a subtle ride…”

After my fascinating conversation with Dan Rettberg at the Klau Library about rare books and the bibliographizing thereof a few weeks ago, I was fully primed to appreciate this piece from the NY Times Arts Beat section.   Yes, the giant mirror and flashing light contraption you see above is, according to scholar Steven Escar Smith,  “one of the most important applications of technology to the study of literature ever made.”

Crazy.
