Come see Amy Waldman on Monday

This year’s On the Same Page book is The Submission by Amy Waldman.  The New York Times calls the book “nervy and absorbing” (a great combination) and says it has “has more verisimilitude, more political resonance and way more heart than Mr. [Tom] Wolfe’s own 1987 best seller, The Bonfire of the Vanities.”  Believe it or not, I found all of that just skimming the first paragraph.  I bet there’s some even nicer stuff toward the end of the review.

Anyway, as part of the On the Same Page festivities, the author will be here at the Mercantile on Monday, March 5 at noon to discuss the book.  It’s free and open everyone, but please, PLEASE make a reservation (513.621.0717 or email), so we’ll know how many chairs to set up.  If you can’t make it, she will speaking a few other times around town, but frankly, I’d rather you came our event, so if you want to go to one of the other talks you’ll have to do your own research.

As you may have heard, March is going to be a pretty busy month around here.  Check out the Mercantile’s  events page, and let us know if you see anything you like.
