While Norm and Ed were slaving away all weekend, keeping Dennis Lehane happy, pouring budget plonk for other needy writers, showing the flag at what was, by all reports, a hugely successful Books By The Banks, we flew off to New York for the annual meeting of august but accessible and welcoming membership libraries. The host institution was the New York Society Library. It is our intention when we die to be reincarnated as the New York Society Library. What a splendid (and nicely located) institution, we must say.
Our oppos at the other membership libraries are the most intelligent, charming, and capable people we have ever met. To learn more about their intelligent, charming, and capable membership libraries, click on over to our website with its handy links to, we believe, all of them (scroll down a bit).
