Recommended Sight Unseen: Agent 6

In a bad case of the Western Hemisphere publisher not knowing what the Eastern Hemisphere branch of the same publisher is doing, someone at Tom Rob Smith’s publisher seems to have arranged for a nice feature about the writer on Morning Edition which would give a big shot in the arm to the Western Hemisphere release of Agent 6, his latest Russia-under-Stalin thriller except that the book, which went straight to the top of the best seller list in the UK,  won’t be here until January.  Idiots

We have, I believed recommended everything this unfairly talented and unfairly young author has written.  Readers who heard the bit on the radio and who have been as disappointed as we to learn about the screwup but who haven’t read the earlier ones may come in and get the earlier Smiths (this one, and this one) to lay down a base for the new one.  They’re quite good.
