Extra Credit

This Friday will be the last session in the Library’s Heat Wave investigation into the Florida Crime Novel Scene.  Participants who would like to appear unusually brilliant in the discussion of Love Kills, one of the prolific Edna Buchanan’s string of Britt Montero thrillers, should curl up with Calvin Trillin’s 1986 New Yorker profile of Edna at the peak of her powers when she was a Pulitzer Prize winning police reporter for the Miami Herald.  Trillin, the Master, quickly leads to an understanding and appreciation of Buchanan’s GeeWhiz style which pervades her work, whether fiction or non-fiction.  What a corker.
