Literary crack

It is very unfair, but we snagged Worth Dying For, the new Lee Child thriller, ahead of whoever was waiting for it, but we have been reading the Jack Reacher books since they first came out.  In fact, we believe that in our previous incarnation as a pre-publication reviewer we were assigned the first Reacher and went pretty nuts about it then.  What’s truly amazing is that they just keep getting better.  And we are in awe of his ability to latch onto our primitive brain stem at some point within the first two paragraphs.  It’s like when the locking bar comes crashing down onto your lap in the roller coaster, meaning you can’t get out, and you’re going to be scared – how shall we say this? – crapless.
