Shoe eating filmmaker and author Werner Herzog, who enjoys an approval rating of AT LEAST 66.6% amongst Stacked bloggers, was on NPR this morning, trying to get Steve Inskeep to watch The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, encouraging aspiring filmmakers to read, and poking holes in the old “Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, but she did it backwards and in high heels” theory. I think it’s well worth a listen, but maybe that’s because I think Werner Herzog’s voice is one of the most soothing sounds on the planet.
If you’re also a fan of the Great Man’s voice, stop by the Library someday and ask the Administrative Assistant to perform “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes (As Sung by Werner Herzog)”, a musical novelty he invented to amuse his 15-month-old son on long car drives. He (the 15-month-old) thinks it’s hilarious, but your mileage may vary.
