Museum Day on Fountain Square a Resounding Success

Museum Day on the Square proved an apt time to reflect on the extent to which downtown's wonderful outdoor living room has changed. Here she is "pre-Jumbotron."

Sandwiched between tables occupied by the Greater Loveland Historical Society Museum (which holds an annual road rally) and the Historic Promont House Museum of scenic Milford, Ohio, Mercantile volunteers and staff proselytized for our fair institution.  This was a great event for getting to know some of the area’s lesser known institutions like the Greater Cincinnati Police Historical Society Museum. Cincinnati Art Snob has a comprehensive list of links to institutions in attendance.

These included the Sign Museum, the Ohio Tobacco Museum, even the Cincinnati Observatory, which had set up a telescope with a filter that allowed passersby to view sunspots and solar flares.  -Ed Scripsi
