You don’t really need to be working, do you?

Have we passed on to you our latest drug of choice? It’s Shorpy. We hope you will go to the site and spend hours and hours so that we can get ahead of you, steal your ideas, and make friends with your boss while you are mesmerized by the photos. Please check immediately the recent Walnut Street scene featuring northbound streetcars in front of the Mercantile Library Building and a courteous awning all the way around the Traction Building which is currently on life support. Then, when you’ve spent more than enough time on the full screen version looking at all the details, drop down a few scenes to the Elm Street view that shows the fantastic building that stood where the epically hideous Federated Garage now stands. Do you feel like vomiting?

You can, of course, run a search on Cincinnati, but that’s sort of cheating.

  1. Shorpy is freaking amazing! It’s one of my favorite time-waters, err, resources…

  2. Shorpy is really amazing. They’ve included a great deal of Cincinnati photographs in the last few months. Several locations within Cincinnati that are not familiar to me. I would love to find them and do a “Then and Now” blog.
