Saturday is Read Comics in Public Day

Jeff Suess, leader of the Library’s Graphic Novels discussion group, has reminded us that Saturday is Read Comics in Public Day.  We recommend you be seen reading Dan Clowes’s Eightball #23, Tales Designed to Thrizzle Vol. 1 by Michael Kupperman (see above), or Alan Moore’s slightly meta-pants (as Mr Scripsi would say) but mostly awesome Tom Strong series.

Better yet, pick up The Storm in the Barn by Matt Phelan, then stop by the Library at 1 p.m.on Saturday, September 11th to join in the discussion.

  1. Clowes kicks ass. I’d recommend anything by Eddie Campbell, too.
    Saturday’s filling up fast.

  2. The Clowes is short and the Kupperman is too hilarious to put down, so one could knock those two out without even breaking a mental sweat.

Thanks for the tip on Campbell. Looks great.

  3. I have to admit that my tastes are a bit more… erm… visceral. Warren Ellis is my personal favorite writer so I’ll probably spend some time Saturday reading his phenomenal Transmetropolitan.
