Last chance for Dutch art at the Taft

A post from Sandra Geiser, the Library’s Nourse Collection Administrator:

Have you heard?  Are you aware?

May 2, 2010, is the last day of the Dutch Utopia Exhibition at the Taft Museum of Art.

And to add to the delight of this visit to the Taft, five of the Elizabeth Nourse Sketchbooks from the Mercantile Library are on display in the more intimate Keystone Gallery in an exhibition entitled “Elizabeth Nourse: Images of Mothers & Children.”  Visitors are amazed at Nourse’s striking paintings and haunting self-portrait (right).  This exhibition is closing May 23rd! Do not miss an opportunity to see great art in a great museum.

Sandra Geiser,
Art Sleuth

PS- Dining in the museum café is a perfect addition to this outing.  Try the outside garden for a relaxing lunch.
