Books Bikes & Byrne

https://i1.wp.com/flyingpigeon-la.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/pedaling-revolution-cover.jpgThere’s still time to reserve a seat for tomorrow’s Complete Streets event here which has received blogospheric support of the first order for which we are truly grateful.  Call, email, or stop in.  Or, if you can’t plan that far ahead, just show up and we’ll take your money and find you a chair.  We are that keen on creating a tsunami-level swell of support for this still exotic (in Cincinnati) concept and actually hoping that the audience will turn themselves into a torch bearing mob demanding the restoration of two-way traffic to Fourth Street with the addition of bike lanes directly after the program.  We meant to call your attention last week to David Byrne’s NYT review of the Jeff Mapes book Pedaling Revolution:  How Cyclists Are Changing American Cities, but didn’t get to it.  Interestingly, the Times is recalling your attention to the book, so we don’t have to.  We suppose it’s more urbanist porn, but we don’t care.  We support urbanist porn.  -Nemo Wolfe
