May is Crime Month

crimemonth

Practicing talking and writing like television news people. News people now leaving out pretty much all auxiliary verbs and verbs of being. Not known whether point is (sic) saving time in order to cram in more news youse can use or what, but determined to get the style down. Brian Williams on NBC really good at it.

Enough of that for now.

On the crime front: brilliant news. Crime novel aces Michael Connelly, John Sandford, and the super brilliant Lee Child all have new releases in May. Fans – and we are amongst the most rabid amongst all three fan groups – are walking around in a daze, waiting to score the good stuff. To keep from going over the edge, we grabbed the latest T. Jefferson Parker and found it to be much more than the sort of literary methadone you might get from – say – Robert B. Parker. In fact, the L. A. scenery is as good as anything from Robert Crais, and we’re nearly as high on Crais as Connelly. Isn’t there some way you can get Amazon to dump these things to the Kindle without having to give the order the instant they come out? Until then dealing with cold sweats as best can.

  1. I told my husband that maybe we could order the Lee Child early from the U.K. but he nixed that idea because then he said the fun would be over sooner. So we must wait. Sigh.
