The Industrious and Laudable C. J. Sansom

revelationHow industrious is C. J. Sansom? Stacked hasn’t been in business all that long, but he’s already getting his second warm embrace from this usually prickly quarter. We’re in the middle of Revelation, which is yet another Matthew Shardlake mystery, and we would much rather be finishing the book than doing any of the productive stuff we’re supposed to be doing, despite the fact that Shardlake mysteries are set in the corrupt late Henry VIII years which would ordinarily put them on the to-be-shunned list as we don’t really like costume dramas. If you’re too lazy to follow the link to the previous citation, Shardlake is a scrambling but very bright barrister with a romantic heart and a hunchback. Get this: every lawyer we push these on comes back for more.

  1. Fantastice series, but when is the next one coming out?

  2. Is the poor man allowed no rest at all? These are great whacking texts. I do imagine he’s at work on another, but it is bound to be at least two years from the 09 release.
