Phoned-in Friday: 30 Drawings in 30 Days

Check out artist Tom Davie’s new project:

In an effort to experiment without hesitation and explore variations in composition, abstraction and letterforms, I have decided to pursue the following month-long project. Beginning on Wednesday, February 11, and continuing through Thursday, March 12 (2009), I will create and post 30 new works.

While concept and craftsmanship motivate my larger bodies of work, the intent of this project is to consistently create and adapt. The style and look of each piece is an integral part of this undertaking, but the final outcome remains secondary to the integration of varying methods, techniques and layouts. The primary medium of creation will be graphite on paper or translucent vellum; however, in the spirit of experimentation, I will not be limited if inspiration dictates otherwise.
