The Covers from the Hall Collection Take the Air

Twenty Hall Collection books, along with the beautiful mahogany book shelf from the 12th floor lecture hall were removed from the library today, at great peril to staff vertebrae and personal safety (that freight elevator is a beast), and packed off in a bread van bound for Covington’s gorgeously rennovated Carnegie Visual and Perfoming Arts Center for Word Play, an exhibit of multi-sensory works.

The exhibit opens tomorrow and features works by Emily Buddendeck, The Greater Cincinnati Calligrapher’s Guild, and others.  The center, a renovated Carnegie library dating back to 1902, recently had a tree growing through its caved-in dome.  Today it is a vibrant arts center, and home to my favorite annual arts offering: The Art of Food. -Ed Scripsi
