Sorry, The New Yorker

After yesterday’s unprovoked and mean-spirited swipe at the cartoons in The New Yorker , I think it’s only right I point out that the issue that arrived today looks fantastic.  It’s the fiction issue, and includes juicy looking pieces by Nabokov, Haruki Murakami, Annie Proulx*, Mary Gaitskill*, George Saunders… it even has a great, non-whimsical cover by Adrian Tomine (above).  The New Yorker, please accept my humblest apologies.  Library members, please rush directly to your favorite membership library so that you may peruse this periodical in the bust-lined splendor of our Reading Room.

I still think Sasha Frere-Jones is a jerk**, though.
