Finally, something funny about the cartoons in the New Yorker– an article that explains why the cartoons in the New Yorker aren’t especially funny.

Hey, I kid the New Yorker because I love the New Yorker. I just don’t like the cartoons. Or the overly whimsical covers. Or Sasha Frere-Jones.

  1. I like the New Yorker and its cartoons. I prefer the darker tones of Charles Addams’ strips, though.

  2. I also love the New Yorker. Maybe that’s why I hold its cartoons to an impossibly high standard.
