Graphic Novel Discussion Group, Second Session

The Library’s Graphic Novel Discussion Group will hold its second meeting in the 11th floor reading room on Saturday, November 10 at 1 p.m. After successfully knocking Marjane Satrapi’s Persepolis out of the park in October, this month the group will take on the Will Eisner’s classic A Contract With God.  This group is, as always, free and open to members and non-members alike.

For the benefit of the uninitiated, I should mention that phrase “graphic novel” refers to a book that looks and acts very much like a comic book, only it’s longer, written for grown-ups, and usually has a lot more literary merit then your average Archie comic… although lately the romantic tension between Mr. Weatherbee and Miss Grundy has been almost Ishigurian.
