Monday: Covers from the Hall Collection


According to the wikipedia entry on Charles Langbridge Morgan, his excessive seriousness has banished him from lasting fame, which is, in and of itself, funny.
This weekend, while wandering the antique malls and holes of Lebanon, OH, which looked, on a cerulean autumn afternoon like a movie set for a biopic on Norman Rockwell, I ran into the very man for whom this blog is named: Mr. Virginius Hall, Collector of Books. There, among the Tiffany shades, crippled armoires, carnival glassware, clubs, rackets, military uniforms, battered Underwoods, earthenware jugs, near an antique vacuum pump, we passed and said our cordial hellos. He said he was looking for books. -e. scripsi
