Monday: Covers from the Hall Collection

Nos Morituri Te Salutamus.

For Memorial Day, here’s a memorable author from Mansfield, OH who put the “pro” in prolific.   His WWI service got him the Légion d’honneur and Croix de guerre.  He would have been a perfect candidate for a Niehoff Lecture back in the 1950s.   Note to self: find out what Mercantile members were up to in the ’50s.  Sorry about the poor contrast on the image, especially as it has an interesting texture and patina like some Roman coin that has passed through many, many hands.  You’ll just have to trust me on that one, until they come up with a screen that does texture.
