The Brow Level of the reading material on the Library’s periodical stands has gone from Low to High. Instead of the Sports Illustrated and Dwell you usually find there, through October 31st you will find copies of Thomas Michael Alleman’s Sunshine & Noir, Diana Duncan Holmes and Tim Riordan’s Ghosts, and dozens of other books of collected photography.
The reason for this, of course, is that the Mercantile is a FotoFocus venue. Our exhibit, curated by Nancy Howell-Koehler, is entitled “The Evolution of Photo Book-Making.” It’s great. Come take a look.
There’s still room at opening reception tomorrow night (10/4). If you’re interested in coming, send us an email. And if you need a Sports Illustrated or Dwell fix, you’ll find the periodicals in boxes on a rolling cart, right between the Abraham Lincoln and William Henry Harrison busts.
