We finally finished 1493, so now we understand and deeply regret the Columbian Exchange that unleashed swine on an unsuspecting hemisphere. We are happy that Italy got the tomato, however.
Most of the time was spent on The Making of the President, which will be the first book attacked as we Rush the Bridge of State Tuesday June 12 under the wily generalship of the blogger with So Much Too Read. Reading this book was for us who are well up in years rather like running across an old home movie full of people startlingly young and not yet dead. It was also heavily colored by decades of events since then and, of course, November 22, three years after the events of the book.
The group is sold out, but we’ll be there. Running our mouth.
