Instead of fading into obscurity like so many others have after achieving the career-topping honor of speaking at the Mercantile (what exactly is William Makepeace Thackeray is up to these days, anyway?), John Hickenlooper has been enjoying something of a second wind lately. Granted, there’s no way getting elected governor of Colorado can possibly match the thrill being a Mercantile speaker. Still, it is a not altogether unimpressive feat. And now a proverbial cherry has been placed atop the proverbial sundae that is his startlingly vibrant post-Mercantile career, in the form of this great profile in this week’s New York Times Magazine.
And I now have a new career goal- to one day have the NY Times Magazine affectionately refer to me as a “goofball”.
